In the News - Major Changes to the UK Telecom Network
Openreach are aiming to to turn off traditional copper based phone lines by 2025.
By 2020 it will not be possible to order new ISDN lines.
PSTN and ISDN lines will be replaced by Voice over IP (VOIP) in the form of SIP Trunks or a Hosted Phone System
As part of the 2025 shut off Openreach are also proposing to disconnect ADSL services. By 2025 only Fibre to the Cabinet (FTTC) and Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) will be available for Internet Access.
